The HMC- Hand, Foot and Ankle Clinic has an outstanding opportunity for a PROGRAM COORDINATOR - PATIENT SCHEDULING COORDINATOR (Full-Time, Day Shift).

  • RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Review and prioritize incoming referrals from multiple sources using their knowledge of each physician’s specialized skill set.

  • Triage incoming referrals to assure the appropriate specialist will be reviewing referrals.

  • Handle intake of each referral requests, ensuring complete information is received and entered into the electronic medical record system in a timely manner.

  • Schedule initial patient appointments either in person or via Telemedicine based on provider and patient preference.

  • Coordinates appointments for the patient at the appropriate facility and assists with urgent insurance authorization or financial assistance.

  • Manage and resolve a high volume of phone inquiries and messages

  • Review appointment follow-up requirements and expectations with patients. Educate them to ensure adequate understanding of the purpose of each appointment and follow-up recommendations.

  • Offer financial assistance to self-pay and underinsured patients. Provide them with the necessary steps to apply for financial counseling.

  • Serve as a primary program contact to other departments, patients, providers outside facilities.


  • REQUIREMENT
    High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of experience in the program specialty OR equivalent education/experience.
