  • Permanent full-time position. The current working arrangement for this position is 38 hours over 4 days, working Tuesday – Friday each week. You get a long weekend all year round!

The Perfect Opportunity
Our Natural Systems Team are seeking an energetic and collaborative individual to join their team on a full-time basis as their Invasive Species Officer!

We’re seeking someone who has a desire to educate the community on the effective management of Invasive Species and Biosecurity issues across our picturesque Port Stephens LGA, ensuring compliance in accordance with government regulated bodies. You’ll have a knack for providing practical, plain language invasive species and biosecurity advice to key stakeholders, holding an ability to effectively communicate and consult in a friendly and informative manner.

This opportunity will see you playing a key role in administering monitoring and reporting on the progress and outcomes of the programs, including the development and maintenance of a weeds register and the maintenance of written and electronic records to ensure current and accurate inspection and survey information is kept in accordance with best practice.

You’ll have first class communication skills, be self-motivated with an ability to work autonomously whilst operating in accordance with relevant legislation and industry standards.

Reporting to our Environmental Operations Team Leader, you’ll be joining the Natural Systems Team, a bunch of fun-loving, professionals dedicated to improving environmental outcomes across Port Stephens. They love creative problem solving and have a balanced and practical approach in assisting both Council and the Community in addressing critical environmental issues. You won’t be bored!
