Physician (Psychiatrist)

Location: Murfreesboro Tennessee

Description: Department of Veterans Affairs is hiring Physician (Psychiatrist) right now, this job will be placed in Tennessee. For detail informations about this job opportunity please read the description below. The incumbent provides psychiatric care services for the Mental Health Care Line. Provide direct psychiatric care to Veterans as directed by the service. Direct care may include care by video phone or via Tele-mental Health methods.

Provide psychiatric consultation services, both within and external to the service line.

Provide psychiatric care that is consistent with all VA policies including polices regarding recovery and suicide prevention, provide timely treatment planning and consultation with interdisciplinary teams as assigned by the service,
educate staff, residents, physicians, and other disciplines,! by direct supervision, didactic or other teaching methods as assigned by the service, participation in the system-wide call coverage system as defined by the service, participate in peer review, committees and other quality management duties as assigned, an participate and keep up to date on assigned VA education programs, and maintain continuing medical education. Perform any other duties as assigned by the service consistent with the credentials of a board certified psychiatrist.

Successful applicants must: (a) be board certified or board eligible in Psychiatry, be willing and able to use an electronic medical record, willing and able to use MS Word or comparable word processing software to execute several office automation functions such as storing and retrieving electronic documents and files; activating printers, inserting and deleting text; formatting letters, reports and memoranda, and transmitting and receiving e-mail.

The physician will protect! printed and electronic files containing sensitive data in accordance with the provisions of the Privacy Act of 1974 and other applicable laws, Federal Regulations, VA statutes and policy and VHA policies. The physician protects data from unauthorized release, or from loss, alteration, or unauthorized deletion and follows applicable regulations and instructions regarding access to computerized files and release of access codes, etc.
