DUTIES

Summary: Diagnoses or evaluates mental and emotional disorders of individuals, couples and families and administers programs of treatment by utilizing a team based model.

Responsibilities: Include the following.
1.Interviews patients and studies medical and social case histories.
2.Observes patients, and selects, administers, and interprets intelligence, interest, personality, and other psychological tests to diagnose disorders and formulate plans of treatment.
3.Documents goals for treatment and course of treatment while maintaining patient confidentiality.
4.Treats psychological disorders and adjustment problems to effect improved adjustments.
5.Selects approach to use in individual therapy such as directive, nondirectiv! e, and supportive therapy and plans frequency, intensity, and duration of therapy.
6.Collaborates with professionals such as, Psychiatrist, nurses, case managers and primary care physicians in developing treatment programs for providing the most comprehensive and integrated care possible for patients.
7.Consults with other professionals in the community such as; teachers and law enforcement, to work toward enhancing the lives of those living in the community.
8.Instructs and directs students serving psychological internships in clinics.
9.Serves as consultant to social, educational, welfare, and other agencies on individual cases or in evaluation, planning, and development of mental health programs.
10.Participates in Quality Improvement (QI), Quality Assurance (QA) and Continuous Quality Improvement Activities (CQI) as appropriate.
11.Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Ph.D or Psy.D in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from a! n APA approved program; or four to ten years related experience and/or ! training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Licensed Psychologist with HSP designation in state of Tennessee.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Work Processing software, Electronic Medical Records software and Spreadsheet design software.
