Psychiatrist - (Psych) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 24 Hour On-Call
An On Call Adult Psychiatrist is needed in Tennessee fo! r opportunity to begin in May. The On Call schedule will be one week on, and one week off. Daily Rounds are from 8 am to 12 noon. The physician will perform evaluations, consults, and medication management. The site utilizes digital dictation, and cell phone is provided. A psychiatrist (locum tenens) is a mental health professional, who focuses on preventing, diagnosing, and treating mental illness. After completing medical school, a psychiatrist must also complete a one year internship and three additional years of specialized training as a psychiatric resident. In the treatment of mental illness, a psychiatrist is licensed to prescribe medication. Some conditions requiring medication include; depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. A psychiatrist evaluates patients with mental illness and, in cases where medication is subscribed, often practices medication management.
