Requirements: Bachelor's
degree in a health-related field of counseling, psychology or social work, or
must be licensed as a nurse (LPN or RN).
LPNs must have fifteen (15) semester hours of behavioral health and one
(1) year of behavioral health care expectations. Candidates with a Bachelor's degree in
rehabilitation, occupational therapy, criminal justice, and education must have
fifteen (15) college-level semester hours of course work in behavioral health
and at least one (1) year of work experience in the behaviora! l health setting. This position also requires that the employe! e
has an F Endorsement on his/her Driver License to be available to transport
individuals as needed.
Experience: Must have course work and or experience in the areas
of cultural diversity, human development, etiology and treatment of mental
illness, alcohol and drug abuse, physical and sexual abuse, suicide, and mental
retardation. One year experience preferred. Experience working with children
is preferred although applicants may have other skills and experiences that
could accommodate this position. This person will either posses experience or
training in the Re-Education Philosophy or will acquire such training in the
course of employment.
Physical:
Ability to effectively and ethically counsel children and
families. Ability to present
professionally and work within a team format to plan, implement, and evaluate
successful interventions. Ability to
effectively run and process groups wi! th children and families. Ability to work within a team format to meet
positive goals for children and interface with other agencies involved in the
ecology of the family. Must be capable of assisting in utilizing non
violent methods of crisis intervention including therapeutic holding. Must have
mental ability to exercise sound judgment under pressure. Ability to exercise sound judgment
and effective decision-making, ability to set and demonstrate appropriate
boundaries, ability to be an empathic listener, flexibility, willingness, and
adaptability to working with diverse populations. Must also have the ability to communicate
effectively and possess good time management and organizational skills.

Job Summary : Serves
as the prim! ary clinician that provides counseling using a team approach to a
predetermined number of children/youth.
Interfaces with agencies to increase cooperation and consistency between
home, school, and community. Functions
as a member of a treatment team to plan, implement, and evaluate successful
interventions for children and families.
This individual will provide counseling activities that are
adventure-based in nature and will lead group process and activities with
identified children/youth and families. Embraces the key values and principles of the
Re-Ed Philosophy and the key values of case management: empowerment,
normalization, rehabilitation, and continuity of care. The holder of this
position will provide group counseling sessions including initiatives that
encourage communication, trust building, and responsibility of actions and
clinical process of all activities, and parental education groups. Experiences wi! th high and low elements (ropes
course) will also be utilized to meet these objectives. The Adventure-Based Counselor will facilitate
the dynamic process of interpersonal communication and community building which
is intrinsic to adventure-based activities and experiences.
The C&Y ICM team Leader will rotate in a 24 hour/7
day a week on-call schedule and provide direct coverage for 6 case managers
when needed. The ICM Team Leader
will provide administrative supervision
for a team of 6 ICM Case Managers and performs all administrative duties
required to adhere to the guidelines of the program. Administrative duties could include but are
not limited to caseload responsibilities, training of new staff members,
continued staff development, monthly reporting in house, and the promotion of
the program with outside agencies, assist staff to meet set productivity
standards, ensuring compliance with HRMC policy and procedures,! SSOC, and CARF
standards. The ICM Team Leader provides
informa! tion and referral, agency linkage, advocacy, home visits, and follow-up
services as defined by the Case Management Service Plan and ensures that each
case manager on the team does the same for the consumers on their case
loads. The Team Leader provides crisis
intervention and emergency services as needed.
The ICM Team Leader utilizes center wide and community services as
needed for client benefit. The holder of
this position will be required to do the following and other responsibilities
as assigned by his/her direct supervisor:
Provides advocacy, linkage, and referral services as
needed
Maintains appropriate chart records
Conducts administrative and clinical supervision to a
team of Intensive Case Managers
Interfaces with school systems and other agencies from
a supervisory level
Provides mental health assessments, evaluations,
parent education, and consultative services as ! needed
Intake clinician as requested
Clinical and Administrative training for all new staff
as requested
Complete required statistics and other monthly/annual
reports as requested
Provide coverage when necessary for frontline and
other supervisory staff
Knowledge and education in Re-ED philosophy
Adventure-Based Counseling knowledge/experience
Group facilitation
Conducts individual, family, and group counseling
Provides parent training groups
Provides medication monitoring
Completes
all documentation in a timely manner
Participates in treatment team meetings with a
psychiatrist
Participates in IEP and other school related meetings
as need or as requested by families
Interfaces professionally with other agencies involved
in the ecology of the family
Conducts group sessions with children and/or parents.
Pro! vides therapeutic support and crisis intervention
Upholds cent! er policy and procedures, SSOC, and CARF
standards
Knowledge/education in RE-ED philosophy
Knowledge/experience in Adventure-Based Counseling
