Quillen VA Medical Center in Mountain Home (Johnson City), TN located on a 260 acre park-like main campus of massive oak trees and expansive green spaces surrounded by towering mountains, multiple outpatient clinics, a domiciliary and a Community Living Center, providing both short and long-term care. our academic affiliation with the East Tennessee State University (ETSU) School of Medicine provides rich educational opportunities for t! rainees and staff alike. We are seeking a board eligible or board certi! fied Radiologist. Fellowship training is preferred but not required. The position report to the Chief of Raddiology. The incumbent will provide direct patient care in a hospital setting to adults with acute and chronic medical conditions and serve as a consultant to other physicians. Must have experience in interpretation of diagnostic radiologic studies generated in the areas of general radiography, computed tomography (including Cardiac CT), magnetic resonance imaging, fluoroscopy, ultrasonography and Nuclear Medicine (including PET/CT). The entire Medical Center utilizes an electronic medical record system, which requires that all physicians be or become computer literate. An active and unrestricted license in any US State or Territory is required. Previous experience in a VAMC with University affiliation is preferred. Board Certification in Radiology is required. This VA medical center provides a full range of patient care services utilizing state-of-the-art technology ! as well as educational and research opportunities. The Mountain Home VA Health Care System received the Department of Veterans Affairs Rober W. Carey Performance Excellence Trophy Award for 2012, recognizing our system at the highest level of VA quality achievement nationally. Comprehensive health care is provided through primary care, tertiary care, and long-term care in areas of medicine, surgery, psychiatry, physical medicine and rehabilitation, neurology, oncology, dentistry, geriatrics, and extended care. ETSU subspecialty fellows in Cardiology, Pulmonary/Critical Care, Infectious Diseases, and Gastroenterology have regular rotations at our VA. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
BASIC REQUIREMENTS :

Citizenship. Citizen of the United States (Noncitizens may
be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in
accordance with VA Handbook, Part II, Chapter 3, Section A, Paragraph 3g.

Education. Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent
degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic
medicine. The degree must have been
obtained from one of the schools approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs
for the year in which the course of study was completed.
·
Licensure and Registration. Current, full and unrestricted license to
practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the
United States, or in the District of Columbia.

·
English Language Profici! ency. Physicians, including residents, appointed to
direct patient-care positions must be proficient in spoken and written English
as required by 38 U.S.C. 7402(d) and 7407(d).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Physician should be
physically and mentally capable to perform the examinations, formulate the
diagnosis and treatment plan, and educate residents. Physical activity includes sitting, standing
(up to 2 hours), walking (up to 2 hours), heavy lifting (45 pounds or over),
reaching above the shoulder, and repeated bending. Should! be emotionally and mentally stable and
capable of performing the duties of the position.
