KEY REQUIREMENTS

U.S. Citizenship
Full unrestricted Licensure, Certification, or Registration required.
Must pass pre-employment examination.
Designated and/or Random Drug Testing required.
Background and/or Security Investigation required.

English Language Proficiency required. DUTIES:
The incumbent provides psychiatric care services for the Mental Health Clinical Line. They would perform diagnostic examinations, and treat patients in a recovery focused interdisciplinary environment.

Duties include but are not limited to:
Provide direct psychiatric care to Veterans as directed by the Service Line. Direct care may include care by video phone or via Telemental Health methods. Provide psychiatric consultation services, both within and external to the service line. Provide psychiatric care that is cons! istent with all VA policies including policies regarding recovery and suicide prevention. Provide timely treatment planning and consultation with interdisciplinary teams as assigned by the Service Line. Educate staff, residents, physicians, and other disciplines, by direct supervision, didactic or other teaching methods as assigned by the Service Line. Participate in peer review, committees and other quality management duties as assigned.

Relocation Expenses: Relocation expenses are not authorized for this position.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
U.S. Citizenship (Non-citizens may be appointed only if it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens)
Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. The physician must maintain current registration in the Sate of licensure
if this is a requirement for continuing active, curre! nt license.

Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degr! ee resulting
from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic
medicine.

Board certified or Board certified eligible.

1. Board certification in Psychiatry.

Physical Requirements: The work is mainly sedentary but requires some bending, walking, and standing for periods of time. The work requires working under stressful conditions in a fast-paced setting to facilitatepatient care.
