The position is located in Mental Health in the Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program (RRTP). KEY REQUIREMENTS

U.S. Citizenship Required; Must be proficient in spoken and written English
Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery
Pre-employment physical examination required
Designated and/or Random Drug Testing required.
Background and/or Security Investigation required.
Must possess a valid driver's license and have a good driving r! ecord DUTIES:

Incumbent will serve has the Mental Health Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program permanent Program Coordinator. The incumbent will:
Provide program management services to include oversight of administrative and programmatic resources and responsibilities for a program that delivers treatment and related services and interventions including medication management, assessment, case management, psychotherapy, and education for Veterans with a full range of mental health needs.
Be responsible for directing the activities of multidisciplinary clinical teams comprised of psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, advance practice nurses, addiction therapists, counselors, and program clerks.
Direct, administer, and manage all aspects of the MH RRTP, a 24 hour, 7 day a week, 365 day a year program.
Plan, Develop, and implement programs, policies, and procedures.
Oversee the type, quality, and quantity of services provided.
Set! priorities.
Establish short and long range program goals, initiati! ves, and direction.
Ensure MH RRTP compliance with policies and procedures of the Mental Health Care Line, Tennessee Valley Healthcare System, Veterans Integrated Services Network, and Federal rules and regulations.
Ensure that the MH RRTP complies with current performance measures.
Maintain high standards through the review and judicious application of evidenced based practices, practice guidelines, and best practices methodology.
Develop quality management and performance improvement practices, report the results to the Chief, Behavioral Health Section and the Chief, Mental Health Care Line.
Oversee the completion of any evaluation reports.
Ensure the MH RRTP meets and exceeds Joint Commission and the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities accreditation standards. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Qualifications:
Citizenship : Citizen of the United States. (Non-citizens may be appointed when no qualified citizens! are available in accordance with regulations issued by the Under Secretary for Health or designee).

Education : Degree of doctor of medicine or equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. Approved schools are: Schools of medicine holding regular institutional membership in the Association of American Medical Colleges for the year in which the degree was granted, schools of osteopathic medicine approved by the American Osteopathic Association for the year in which the degree was granted, schools (including foreign schools) accepted by the licensing body of a State, Territory, or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) or in the District of Columbia as qualifying for full or unrestricted licensure.

Licensure : Current, full, and unrestricted li! cense to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonw! ealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. The physician must maintain current registration in the state of licensure if this is a requirement for continuing active, current licensure.

Must be board certified or eligible

Work Environment: Work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts of a medical center/hospital environment that require normal safety precautions typical of places such as offices, meeting and training rooms, or libraries. The workspace is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated.

DESIGNATED DRUG-TESTING POSITION: Applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for i! llegal drug use prior to appointment.
