RN - Parthenon Pavilion - Psychiatric Clinical Decision Unit (PCDU)The Psychiatric Clinical Decision Unit (PCDU) is designed to provide intensive inpatient assessments for voluntary and/or involuntary adult patients ages 18 years and older to determine the treatment program that will best address their needs.This program focuses on providing the following essential services:§ Continuous comprehensive assessment and treatment planning§ Psychiatric and medical care§ Crisis stabilization and Intensive treatment§ Transferring patients to the appropriate level of care§ Activity of daily living care and maintenance§ Patient and Family education§ Medication education§ Illness management§ Community resources§ Discharge planningThe PCDU is a 17-bed unit that specializes in assessing patients to determine the treatment program that will best address their clinical presentation. All patients receive a pre-admission evaluation by an assessment specialist, and upon admission are assessed by psychiatry and nursing.Job SummaryDemonstrates knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, range of treatment, and care of patients appropriate to the ages of patients served as per Scope of Service.Promotes customer service initiatives.Utilizes nursing process for individual care to meet needs of patients.Demonstrates ability to perform technical skills and procedures.Documents all patient care.Participate in Performance Improvement activities.Demonstrated experience with each required areas of expertise in section I.Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing.Current licensure of Tennessee Board of Nursing.Current BLS certification (Other certifications as required per Provision of Care for area of employment).Customer service abilities including effective listening skills.Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment.Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 pounds.
