Install, maintain, service, modify, troubleshoot and calibrate a variety of diagnostic and therapeutic biomedical equipment.
Install, maintain, service, modify, troubleshoot and calibrate a variety of diagnostic and therapeutic biomedical equipment by interpreting engineering and vendor information, schematic diagrams and graphic illustrations. Validate, mate, adjust and synchronize systems controls and recording devices utilized in tests or related analyses as required. Diagnose and correct system and equipment malfunctions by making alterations, repairs or replacements to ensure that medical equipment and internal circuitry meet specified requirements; make necessary calculations for computing circuit elements necessary to adjust circuitry to specified requirements as instructed. Improve or make special test setups to conduct functional checks of medical electronic test equipment. Inspect and eliminate equipment shock hazards and assist in providing a systematic preventive maintenance program for medical electronic equipment and related systems. Provide technical assistance and instruction to Medical Center personnel in the operation and maintenance of equipment, assist in providing recommendations regarding purchase of medical electronic equipment. Assist in maintaining records and preparing reports as required. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
Requirements
Work requires a background in Electronics normally acquired through a two year Associate degree program in electronics to become familiar with equipment, experimental devices and apparatus common to a biomedical repair facility.
EXPERIENCE Work requires two years related experience to acquire competency in applying biomedical and electronics principles.
